Bridges of Resilience is building a digital health platform – supported by AI – to help frontline workers detect psychological trauma in women, offer immediate trauma-informed “first-aid,” connect women experiencing trauma with community mentors, and generate data that strengthens global systems of care.
We use simple, compassionate digital tools and community mentorship to bring hope, healing, and connection to women facing psychological trauma in underserved communities.
Many women live with psychological trauma that goes undetected, especially in low-resource settings where mental health care is scarce or stigmatized
Frontline workers are often the first, and only, point of contact, yet rarely receive trauma-informed tools or guidance.
Recovery is strengthened through safe relationships, cultural context, and peer mentorship, not one-size-fits-all solutions.
Bridges of Resilience exists to remind every woman that she is not alone. Through our digital platform, we provide trauma survivors with essential support, a compassionate community, and experienced mentorship. Designed to be simple, culturally relevant, and affordable, our platform ensures that healing is accessible to women wherever they are.
We believe that support and connection are the first steps toward recovery. By bringing survivors together and offering guidance through trusted mentors, we empower women to regain their strength, rebuild their lives, and discover resilience in the face of trauma.
“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.”
Psychological trauma is one of the most widespread yet invisible burdens women experience worldwide. In underserved communities, where resources are scarce and stigma is high—trauma often goes unrecognized and untreated for years. The consequences ripple outward:
A world where every woman, regardless of geography, literacy level, or access to formal care, can recognize her trauma, find culturally relevant support, and heal within a community that understands her.
A world where frontline workers have the tools to detect invisible suffering, where mentors uplift each other through lived experience, and where real-time data drives policy and funding toward what women actually need.
A world where resilience is not an accident, but a supported path.
Women have been supporting each other in healing for generations.
Bridges of Resilience formalizes and strengthens this natural support system through technology, making it accessible, structured, and scalable for communities everywhere.
BoR uses lightweight, on-device AI to strengthen human-led support across all three prongs of the system — frontline workers, community mentors, and the women using the app.
AI helps frontline workers recognize trauma earlier and direct women to the most appropriate resources. It supports mentors with real-time guidance as they navigate difficult conversations. And for women using the app, AI personalizes tools, safety guidance, and emotional support based on their needs and context.
In the background, anonymized data is analyzed to reveal patterns, inform research, and generate insights that can guide policy, improve programs, and help funders invest in what works.
AI never replaces human care, it enhances it, making support more timely, relevant, and accessible, while turning individual experiences into knowledge that can strengthen systems of care.
For generations, women have supported one another on their healing journeys. Bridges of Resilience builds on this enduring tradition by strengthening and formalizing peer support through technology—making care more accessible, structured, and scalable for communities everywhere.
AI never replaces human connection; it enhances it, helping ensure support is timely, relevant, and within reach for those who need it most.
Bridges of Resilience was founded by Anna J. Frandsen, whose life’s work is dedicated to understanding and responding to women’s psychological trauma across cultures.
Grounded in years of global fieldwork, research, and deep listening, Bridges of Resilience was created to translate lived experience into ethical, accessible support and to ensure that no woman faces trauma without recognition, dignity, or care.
Bridges of Resilience is built on six core truths:
When women support each other, outcomes improve, engagement increases, and stigma decreases.
Recognizing trauma early prevents long-term health, economic, and societal consequences.
Bridges of Resilience is building tools, training, and pathways so women recovering from trauma from underserved communities, and the people who support them, are never alone.
This work is grounded in research, fieldwork, and deep respect for lived experience. If it resonates with you, you’re warmly invited to be part of what we’re building.
